Summer Blows Away
How suddenly it arrives, the end of summer. We'll be breaking out the winter djellabahs before we know it.
After a month or so of technical difficulties, my friends at Podswap have reunited me with an iPod. I like to load it with random tracks, which allows me to rediscover (or even discover) music I'd forgotten about or never heard to begin with. When I plugged the new pod in yesterday, Omar Sosa greeted me with a really amazing track from Sentir, a sensational mix of Cuban, Afro-Venezuelan and Gnawa styles and instrumentation, flowing from Sosa's singular jazz perspective.
That track begins today's show and, from there, the magic carpet careens around the globe. My lifelong pursuit of "that sound" continues. following the thread that sews it all together wherever it may lead. Can you hear it?
No podcast via Underheard last week. I think they were having some technical difficulties. We're hoping to have that webstream for you soon. Here's today's playlist. As always, thanks for keeping in tune with TerraSonic.
